A COMMON CHRISTMAS

It's pass 12 am now here, so it means it is "Christmas". Most are ready to celebrate it together with their love ones, few are off to their duties like my uncle, some are just going to sleep like me and others, i don't know. Of course, we also had our family celebration but because there are a lot of children in our Cecilio Clan, we had it celebrated earlier so that the little one's could take a rest after. You know, most of them will go mad crazy if they get tired too much late at night. I remember when I was a littler, we could still celebrate Christmas actually on Christmas Day. Where we had dance till you drop parties and unending fun. And the last Christmas we had when our Lola was still alive, for me, was the most fun, memorable, exciting Christmas so far. But this year, like a common Christmas Party, we had like the Noche Buena, games, dances and Exchanging of gifts. After everyone has receive their gifts, we open our gifts together. I received a bench green hat from my cousin's husband (i think, not so sure :D) and I lily lily like it. After all that, we had picture taking by family and last, All was combined. Look at this one:
I think, this is only half of all the members of the clan present tonight. Some have live long way from Davao and can't be home for unknown reason for me. And my mother is abroad who's I've been missing for almost 13 Christmas I think. Few minutes after this "pictorial", everyone started to prepare going home and they were gone. almost 11 pm of 24th .. we're done cleaning up the house and I started to feel a little bit of sadness (weh?? emo?? haha). Well, seriously, after this I am prepared to go to sleep. No choice, I can't drink with my father and uncles because I am not a good drinker and I hate being drunk. No friends in the area and can't think of anything to do. I am doing this for many Christmas again and again. Now, I just want to greet you merry CHRISTmas and GOD bless. I hope you enjoy yours.

Last thing. Why I didn't receive greetings as much others do (envy mode hahah). Well, it's the least I could expect (recieving atleast greetings) because I've never been use in giving gifts and receiving as well.

What's New and what's Next in terms of technology, how would you prepare
for these changes?

By few years from now, technologies will most likely to advance to a new and very exciting level. It would be safe to say that technology will surprise us as it introduce new and more cooler high quality gadgets/things. Sci-fi or Science Fiction would not be that too impossible. Perhaps, use technology itself will allow us to attain those.

CASE 4

Prominent book authors said that technology is the biggest contributor
to climate change, in your capacity as an IT student, how would you address this
global problem? Enumerate steps and actions to be taken.

We all know that technology "was being made to lessen the cost and preferably in order to does work sufficiently and more accurately". In other words, technology was made to help us. It is not the technology that destroys the ecosystem and do great contributions to the climate change but it is us, humans, that do the most damage to the climate. This global problem would be easier to solve if we could just identify what really is the problem. Again, Technology is not the main problem but the right usage of technology is. If we are just good and smart enough to understand this, we could use technlogy as the instrument of restoring back our natural climate that most people believe have been damage greatly by technology when in fact, by them.

And to do this, we must use technology in properly and not abusively. We must atleast identify for what benifit are using the technology.

For my own opinion, here are the best easy steps:

1. Awareness: The first step towards stopping climate change is awareness: awareness of the issue, awareness of how your individual actions and choices affect the balance of our planet and spreading that awareness to others.
2. Your Impact: The second step is taking your knowledge into your own hands and making environmentally friendly choices that will reduce your ecological impact on the planet. A quantifiable way of beginning to do this is calculating your carbon footprint. See how much energy you consume a year, then compare your consumption to national and international averages.
3. Taking Action: Once you have calculated your footprint, take action to reduce it! Our website provides a simple guide on how to morph your home into a climate friendly abode. There are some other great websites out there that can help you as well.
4. Offset your unavoidable emissions and help fund carbon reduction projects in the developing world. GHGs are global, so removing GHGs from the atmosphere in China, removes GHGs from the collective atmosphere.
5. Go Carbon Neutral! Reduce, Reuse and Offset completely.
6. Be an agent of change: Encourage your friends, your coworkers and your place of business to start climate friendly practices.

Relate significant events in society to innovations in technology.

Events in society were greatly a big part into innovations in technology. It does not only contributed to the innovations but often the very cause of it. One of these significant events are wartime and the most remarkable wartime was the "World War 1 and 2".Wartime has always been a time in which inventions have come to the fore and the inventions of World War 1 simply show that this is always the case. Unfortunately, this period in our history is not one that showed inventions which were created in order to help individuals. Rather, many of the inventions of world war 1 included things that were meant to kill and destroy. Next event is that occurred when we don't expect much, this are the natural phenomenas - this includes earthquakes, tsunamis, vulcanic erruptions and many more. In the times when we don't know how to stop this horrifying events, innovations that counterfeits such have been studied. Most of this innovations are now used not for killing people but rather to help and protect them.

Think about yourself worthy to be called as IT professional, what

of life.

Seeing my self worthy to be called as an "IT Professional" few years from now would not be that hard. The difficult thing is making use of my profession to introduce new, greater and better innovations than those who have passed by already. But difficult is too far the same with possible. Yes, it may be hard but I think and I am confident that by that time, where technology is almost everything, I could do something extraordinary. As an IT Professional, one thing I could contribute in improving the quality of life is implementing proper usage of ceratin technologies. By that, we could avoid negative effects of technology in the society. By far, I think, the most important thing that I could contribute is a innovation that could be available for everyone for everything.

"Enumerate reasons why we use technology today. What are some points that
have influenced us? what are the factors involved in technology change?"

Now a days, what we call technology is very much present in every body's life - regardless of who they are, what they do or where they do it. "Why use technology?", I would answer "Why not?". Basically, there are many reasons why we use technology but it varies for different types of people. First reason is that we need technology and that need is increasing as we discover new greater things. Let's have transportation as an example, which is one of the technology we uses, we invented it due to the need of fast and easier way of transporting our goods, things , etc, and for as to travel easier — and as our need changes, so does technology. Second thing that causes us to use technology is that for leisure purposes, we use technology for personal reasons or for owns sake. As humans, we tend to search for different ways that could make us live life comfortably or better yet, help as live life to the fullest through the help of technology. Perfect example of this are "gadgets". This kind of technology, now a days, are used by people for fun, pleasure, and simply making use of money they have.

LAWSUIT 1:

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

Well, students will most likely say "I expect to learn more about this subject" when ask about a question of "what do you expect about this subject?". Of course, basically, we study to learn what we do not know. But as for me, that is only a part of my expectation. I wanted not only to expect to learn more but that I could see my expectations being meet by the subject, the students and the teacher or mentor or rather, instructor. So far, as I can see it, COMP04 is focused on the current trends in Information Technology as it was written in the subject description. And for that, I expect that it could be more helpful for us, specially that we/I are/am Information Technology students. That through this subject, we can get along with the current and future developments of Information Technology's field of course. I personaly also expect that this subject -COMP04- will be a stepping stone for me to know what really is Information Technology and its use in the society. And for the instructors, particularly Mr. Mark Van Buladaco and Ms. Mae Ramoran since it's the first time that they will be my teachers, that we will have a good time for the rest of our meetings. I still expect for changes in any aspect as the time goes but preparing that it won't have any negative effect on our studies. ( hahahaah, studies daw ) .. I wanted to pass this subject with my very own effort and knowledge, but I think this subject is pretty easy, so far as we go. Still, I am looking forward for a learning that would not pass away, a lesson not only about this subject but as how we, students, can be more productive in the near future.

CONFUSED!

There are so many things in life that we do not understand and perhaps, life itself is one thing that is hard to explain. But still, we are living it. As I have said, most of these things are difficult for us to understand and yet we let it happen in our lives. Maybe understanding it is not neccesary because if we already experience such happiness in doing it, we often forget of what reason we are doing it. Love, for example is one thing, people especially young of age get involved in a relationship that speaks about love. Next to it is commitment which comes after. Then comes the realization of differences between the two involved. Problems comes after it then followed by so many possibilities and etc, etc. But do these young youth really understand those things? I think not. What I think is that they are actually doing it not for causing or securing a real good future but instead they are doing it for excitement; they are drive by the impression of the people around them; merely influenzed by what they see in there surrounding; maybe pressured by the thougth of being left alone in a relationship; or just fooling around. But anyways, I dont really oppose people getting through these situation because it is ourselves that decides, regardless of what influenzed us to do it. Honestly, I don't think of writing these things but since I have started it already, I , Thirdy, will decide to continue. Confused? Are you? Well, just to inform you, I am. Things that keep bothering my mind and as well as loneliness drive me to write this. One of this is that do you really need to know. If not then, for what reason I am doing these? but if yes, would it matter? Well, if you ask me which is which, I would say "I Don't Know". I'm CONFUSED.
